When a driver is accused of DUI, they may experience various hardships. In Minneapolis, and all parts of Minnesota, these charges can lead to time behind bars, the loss of driving privileges and costly financial penalties. However, drunk driving charges can affect people in other ways. For example, they may face an uphill battle when trying to apply for a job or experience problems with family members and friends.
Authorities recently took a Minnesota woman into custody over allegations that she was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Law enforcement officials claim that the woman, who is from Red Wing, had a blood alcohol content level that was over three times greater than the legal limit.
Officials also accuse the woman of driving past a sign and flares that were placed on the road to warn drivers that the road was closed as a result of an accident. Next, authorities say the 52-year-old woman collided with a fire truck. Although nobody was in the fire truck when the accident took place, the woman was injured in the collision. Furthermore, state authorities said that there will be additional DUI enforcement until December 30th.
For drivers facing DUI charges, pinpointing the appropriate course of action is pivotal. Sometimes, certain details, such as the administration of a BAC level test, can have a significant impact on the outcome of a case. For people who are unsure of which steps they should take, consulting a legal professional who understands the ins and outs of the law may help.
